Über Geld Spricht Man Nicht

Tedious Work accompanied the two week long Seligenstadt Kaufmannszug, which takes place every four years and sees 20 carriages, 40 horses and 500 people walk (and ride) from Augsburg to Seligenstadt in period costume and using original carriages.
In connection with the Kaufmannszug and for the occasion of the Geleitsfest weekend Tedious Work developed an “art trail” with 15 stations. Each of the stations were thematically connected (directly or more loosely) with our impressions of the Kaufmannszug and for the most part established game structures to be played by visitors. Though thematically and practically the games were very varied, one underpinning theme was the focus on cross-generational communication, and more specifically, what older generations can learn from children especially on topics where they are usually not taken seriously, for example: how money works, how lying works, what is trade, what is diversity, etc.
Über Geld Spricht Man Nicht was accessible to an audience of almost 10,000 people. Families in particular embarked on the performative scavenger hunt, completed tasks related to the themes of the Kaufmannszug and were inspired to discuss their own interactions with us as part of a trade for goods.
Über Geld Spricht Man Nicht was realised in cooperation with Heimatbund Seligenstadt and funded by Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain.
